An intense downpour in Mumbai hits a municipal parking lot where over 400 vehicles were reportedly submerged. This event occurred at the Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s underground pay parking lot in Thakur Complex in the Kandivali area. The city has witnessed heavy rains since midnight on Saturday.

Owing to this many low-lying areas in the city have been waterlogged, disturbing public life. Herein many vehicles are also stuck. On one hand, someone’s house was flooded whilst on the other, someone’s cars were stuck in the rain.

Similarly, the Municipal Corporation has an underground pay and park in Thakur Complex in Kandivali that accommodated 350-400 vehicles. These mainly comprised of cars and autorickshaws which were severely damaged due to the stagnant water in the underground parking lot.

Certain reports state that the fire brigade is currently pumping the water out of the park. Amongst the hardest hit are the rickshaw drivers who were parking their autos in the said lot during the covid19 period. Additionally, some expensive cars too were parked there. Owing to the stagnant water, these have been said to suffer from damages.
