The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) plans to introduce 25 new bus services on Dahisar-Andheri route.
This decision was taken in order to provide last-mile connectivity to commuters of Dahisar and DN Nagar Metro 2A line, which is expected to be operational this year.
It is in lines with the bus services being provided from the near railway station. Now, with Mumbai metros gaining prominence, the BEST wants to give passengers an option to provide bus services from the metro stations.
BEST will shift a few bus stops and have new routes for upcoming metro corridors. This is being done keeping the traffic congestion in mind. Feeder routes with mini and midi buses that can be easily accommodated on the city’s roads will be operated, official added.
BEST also plans to relocate some of the bus stands and stops between Dahisar and Andheri closer to the metro stations. The plan aims to ensure minimal traffic congestion and provide easier and direct access to commuters taking metro services.

Additionally, the transport body official stated that as other metro corridors in the city become operational, BEST will operate a total of 175 new bus routes to facilitate a smooth commute.
