In order to make Mumbaikar’s New Year’s Eve safe, the Central and Western Railway have decided to run four and eight special trains, respectively.
On CR, four special trains will run between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai and Kalyan and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai and Panvel on 1.1.2018 (after the midnight of 31.12.2017). These will be slow trains and will stop at all destinations.
On Western Line, eight special local trains will run on the midnight of 31st December 2017 including four from Churchgate to Virar and four from Virar to Churchgate. All these trains will be of 12 coaches and will halt at all stations between Churchgate and Virar.
The details are as follows:
- Kalyan special will leave CSTM at 01:30 am and arrive Kalyan at 3:00 am
- CSTM special will leave Kalyan at 01:30 am and arrive CSTM at 3:00 am
- Panvel special will leave CSTM at 01:30 am and will arrive Panvel at 02:50 am
- CSTM special will leave Panvel at 01:30 am and will arrive CSTM at 02:50 am
