Central Railway registers record-breaking ticket checking revenue

The highly motivated ticket checking team of Central Railway generated a record ticket checking revenue of Rs.103.39 crore for the first quarter i.e April-June-2022.

To ensure comfortable travel & better services to all bonafide rail users, Central Railways (CR) conducts intensive ticket checking in Suburban, Mail Express, Passenger services and special trains across all its divisions to curb ticketless and irregular travel. Senior Officers are closely monitoring the revenue loss due to ticketless travel and other irregularities.

The highly motivated ticket checking team of CR generated a record ticket checking revenue of INR 103.39 crore for the first quarter i.e April-June-2022.

During the month of June-2022, Central Railway has registered a revenue of INR 31.78 crore through 4.83 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel including un-booked luggage

During the first quarter i.e April-June-2022, a total of 14.94 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel and un-booked luggage were detected as against 5.04 lakh cases in the corresponding period last year thereby showing an increase of 196.32 per cent.

The revenue realized from such ticketless/irregular travel registered INR 103.39 crore for the first quarter i.e April-June-2022 as against revenue of INR 31.58 crore registered during the corresponding period last year showing an increase of 227.40 per cent.

CR appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.
