According to an official press release, the Central Railways is to operate 431 suburban trains from October 1.
The Central Railways is to include 8 more services including two ladies’ special trains from Thursday. Earlier 423 services were operational. This decision was taken keeping in view the outbreak of the coronavirus in a bid to maintain social distancing.
Down below is the full break up of additional 8 services:
Mainline:
(These specials will run as fast trains and halt at Byculla, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Thane, Diva and Dombivali only)
Transharbour line:
(These specials will run as fast trains and halt at Rabale, Koparkhairane, Turbhe, Juinagar, Nerul and Belapur only)
Moreover, the special suburban trains and stations over Central Railway are regularly sanitized and cleaned in order to upkeep proper hygiene to contain the spread of the contagious disease. The local trains which were earlier suspended in March have resumed operations for essential staff only. However, the state government has requested the commuters to follow social distancing norms and wear masks, while boarding, alighting at railway stations and travelling in special suburban trains in view of the pandemic.
