Central Railway (CR) in its continuous pursuit of providing rail connectivity to every corner of its Zonal boundaries has taken up several infrastructure works across Maharashtra. These projects include laying of new rail lines, doubling of rail lines and construction of new stations as well. 

One of the projects being executed o­n top priority is the Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli new railway line. o­ne of the most significant infrastructure development projects, this vital railway link spans a length of 261.25 kms of which the section from Ahmednagar to Amalner, a distance  of 100.18 kms have been completed and the next phase from Amalner to Eganwadi, a distance of 33.12 is nearing completion. 

The entire stretch from Ahmednagar to Wadvani, a distance of 200.15 kms is expected to be ready by 2024-25, while the balance part of Wadvani to Parli, a distance of 61.10 kms is expected to be ready by 2025-26. 

There are 23 stations along the route.

The entire work till date has being executed in phases as follows:

• Ahmednagar-Narayandoh – 12.27 kms commissioned o­n 29.03.2017

• Narayandoh-Solapurwadi – 23.26 kms commissioned o­n 25.02.2019

• Solapurwadi-Ashti – 30.64 kms commissioned o­n 31.12.2021

• Ashti-Amalner – 33.92 kms commissioned o­n 05.01.2024

The Ashti-Amalner new line of 34 kms was inaugurated and extension of DEMU train services o­n the new line were flagged off by Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister in the august presence of other dignitaries o­n 28.2.2024.

Earlier the Ahmednagar-Ashti new line of 66.18 kms was inaugurated and DEMU train services o­n the new line were flagged off by Shri Eknath Shinde, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Maharashtra, in the august presence of other dignitaries o­n 23.9.2022.

• The Ahmednagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath new broad gauge line project is o­n 50-50 cost sharing between the Government of India and State Government.

• The DEMU service o­n this line will ensure better connectivity to residents of the Ahmednagar – Parli belt and nearby areas.

• It will promote local trade and industries and thus boosting socio-economic growth of the Marathwada region.

The project is set to enhance connectivity and transportation options in the region, benefiting both passengers and the economy.
