CR Wins 3 shields At The 67th National Railway Awards

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India presented 155 individual awards, 21 shields and 8 essay competition winners in English and Hindi.

Central Railways (CR) won three shields at the 67th National Railway Awards Function held at Bhubaneshwar on May 28, 2022. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India presented 155 individual awards, 21 shields and 8 essay competition winners in English and Hindi.

Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway received the Commercial Shield and Environment and Cleanliness Shields along with Mani Jit Singh, Principal Chief Commercial Manager, A.K. Gupta, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Central Railway respectively. The General Manager also received the Civil Engineering Shield along with Ashwani Saxena, Principal Chief Engineer, Central Railway jointly with Western and South Central Railways.

Anil Kumar Lahoti said the contribution of their dedicated staff in environment and cleaning has resulted in Central Railway’s winning the Indian Railway’s Environment and Cleanliness Shield this year- a rare hat-trick of wins. The commercial shield was achieved for outstanding contribution of highest ticket checking earning, parcel revenue and non-fare revenue amongst zonal railways. Performance in the elimination of manned level crossings by the construction of Road Over Bridge/Road Under Brides/Limited Height Subways, track renewal, Thick Web Switches, etc. have propelled Central Railway to achieve this feat.

The list of seven staff and officers who have been chosen for their exceptional contribution in 2021-22 for individual awards and one essay writing winner are:

  • Rakesh Ramdas Shelke, Track Maintainer, Gr.IV
  • Naveen Pratap Singh, Inspector/RPF
  • Vijay Singh Chandrawat, Chief Loco Inspector
  • Chandrashekhar M. Bakre, Chief Office Superintendent
  • P.K. Sivarajan, Safety Counsellor (Mechanical)
  • Manraj Meena, Senior Divisional Materials Manager
  • Narmadeshwar Jha, Dy. Chief Operations Manager (Goods)
  • Pranjal Rajesh Patil, Assistant (TRD), Nagpur 2nd in English essay competition
