Central Railway is all set to increase the speed of the CSMT-Shirdi Vande Bharat train on the Igatpuri-Manmad route to an impressive 130 kmph. Despite the potential top speed of the Vande Bharat train being 160 kmph, the lack of high-speed railway track network has prevented these trains from operating to their full potential.

Speed up to 110 kmph is currently permitted on the 125 km stretch between Igatpuri-Shirdi. An official said that as per the instructions of the Railway Board, CR has started track improvement to boost the speed.
