Demand to name the new railway station between Thane and Mulund as 'Shristhanak'

Former MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe demanded that the new railway station to be constructed between Thane and Mulund should be given the original name of Thane as 'Shri Sthanak' and considering the importance of Thane railway station which is the first railway station in the country, the culture of Thane should be reflected in the redevelopment plan of this station. 


On the insistence of MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Regional Manager of Central Railway Rajnish Goyal visited Thane station on Tuesday and reviewed the passenger facilities in detail. At that time Sahasrabuddhe made these important demands along with many other demands.

The work of the new railway station should be completed on war footing. Redevelopment of Thane railway station, Kalyan-Vashi, Thane to Vashi via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Thane-Vasai local services should be started, additional unreserved coaches should be added to all trains going to Konkan, more mail-express trains should stop at Thane on their way. Also, the BJP delegation led by Vinay Sahasrabuddhe made important demands to the railway administration such as escalators on every platform, construction of north-south bridges connecting the east-west bridges of the station and design and regular maintenance of rest houses with all facilities including shelters.


On this occasion Milind Ballal of Travelers Association along with Nandkumar Deshmukh, Regional Spokesperson Sujay Patki, General Secretary Vilas Sathe, local corporator Mrinal Pendse, Sunesh Joshi, Pratibha Madhvi, Namrata Koli and other activists were present.
