A direct state transport bus service between Thane and Adampur (Gargoti depot) has been launched, following the initiative of Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

The service was flagged off at 8:00 AM from the Vandana ST depot in Thane. The bus was ceremonially inaugurated by corporator Sheetal Dhamale and Santosh Dhamale. The driver and conductor were also felicitated on the occasion.

Operated by the Gargoti depot (Kolhapur division), the bus will run via Gargoti–Murgud–Adampur–Bidri–Shelewadi–Kolhapur–Karad–Satara–Mega Highway–Kharghar–Panvel–Vashi–Airoli before reaching Thane.

As per the schedule, the bus departs Gargoti at 8:00 AM, Murgud at 8:40 AM, and Thane (Vandana ST stand) at 8:00 AM.

The service is operated using a ‘Lalpari’ bus with 2x2 pushback seating at standard fares. Passengers above 75 years of age are eligible for free travel (terms apply), while women passengers receive a 50% fare concession under the state scheme.

Earlier, passengers travelling from Thane to Adampur had to change buses at Kolhapur. The introduction of this direct service is expected to make travel more convenient, safer, and cost-effective, especially for devotees of Shri Balumama and residents from Kolhapur district living in Thane and Mulund.
