Central Railways (CR) is the pioneer railway system on Indian Railways and has been committed to provide a safe and comfortable journey to its countless passengers in general and Divyangjan in particular. It has always been at the forefront in providing Divyangjan-friendly amenities at its railway stations.

Signages in braille for the benefit of visually challenged passengers, indicating Station Master’s office, Toilets, Booking offices, lifts etc. Map of the station with directions in braille have been provided at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and Thane stations. This facility is already available at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai (suburban and long distance).

Guiding Path with checkered tiles have been laid at the edge of all platforms for visually challenged passengers. In addition checkered tiles have also been laid at platforms indicating where the Divyangjan Coach comes and Signages with beeper to identify the location of Divyangjan Coach has also been provided at all suburban stations.

Ramps have been provided at all suburban stations (except at island platforms ) for easy entry / exit to Divyangjan passengers. Escalators and FOBs with stainless steel handrail have also been provided at all suburban stations.  To facilitate easy inter-platform transfer, lifts have been provided in suburban stations and further more will be installed in due course.

To facilitate booking of tickets, Low Height booking counters have been provided at all suburban stations. Besides, Divyangjan passengers can also avail the services of facilitators for booking of tickets.  Divyangjan friendly toilets and Low Height drinking water taps have been provided at all suburban stations.
