Mumbai – After the recent fair hikes, the railway authorities have started removing the first class reserved coaches from short-distance trains. Two coaches from train no. 19011 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Gujarat Express will be removed on 20 October. An A/C chair car and a second class coach will be attached to this train instead. The same exercise will be carried out in train no. 19012 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Gujarat Express. This will result in the train having 22 coaches in all, which will affect pass holders who travel on the long-distance trains. Western Railway PRO Gajanan Mhaputkar said that the changes will not affect the passengers as one A/C chair car and one simple chair car will provide enough space for commuters.
