Due to an engine issue, a GoAir flight that was heading to Lucknow from the city, had to make an emergency landing shortly after it took off. This incident happened at 7:57 PM on Tuesday evening. GoAir flight G8-2610 was carrying 178 passengers and it managed to land safely.

According to an airport official, “The glitch-hit Airbus A320 plane landed safely”.

Even GoAir issued a statement later in the day which it is stated that the Lucknow-bound flight had to make a "precautionary" air turn back shortly after takeoff owing to a technical glitch with one of its CFM engines. After turn back, the flight landed safely with 178 passengers and 4 crew on-board.

It further states that, "The aircraft will be put back into service following an inspection and rectification by the GoAir engineering team. At GoAir, the safety of our passengers and crew is of paramount importance and the airline sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers".

This is the second incident in the month, when GoAir is in the headlines for one its planes. On November 14, while landing at the Bengaluru airport, the GoAir plane – which also was an Airbus A320 -- veered off the runway and the plane took off from the grassy area located to the runway's side.
