Memu trains running from several districts of Maharashtra to different parts of the city  were closed from March 22, 2020, due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, the railways department has now decided to resume the services, and as per reports, the Western Railway has decided to start Memu trains from April 7 and 8, 2021.

It is reported that these services will allow passengers to travel to Gujarat in unreserved coaches. Moreover, this brings a sigh of relief for passengers travelling from Dahanu and Virar.

As per the revised guidelines, Memu services from Virar to Surat, Bharuch, Valsad and Dahanu will be started from April 7 and 8, 2021. Moreover, officials believe that the launch of Dahanu to Borivali ferry and Borivali to Valsad ferry will also benefit the industrial workers.
