In the fleet of the State Transport Corporation (ST), the newly built 'Hirkani' bus in the semi luxurious category has become a favorite of Mumbai-Pune commuters. The color of the new bus is green, white and has a tinge of saffron. However, the purple and white color scheme will be given to 'Hirakni' and soon the new 'Hirakni' will enter the fleet of ST Corporation.

The new 'Hirkani' bus is underway at ST Corporation's central workshop at Dapodi, Pune. In the future, 200 new such buses will enter the service of passengers. However, ST Corporation has decided to change the present color scheme to white and purple. Accordingly, in the future, instead of white-green, 'Hirakani' will be seen in white-purple color scheme.

It is understood that the color scheme given to the new 'Hirkani' will be given to the electric 'Shivai' bus. As the purple color fades in the sun, in 2015 'Hirkani' re-entered into service with green-white with a blue stripe on it. Rohit Dhende, president of Bus for Us Foundation, expressed the opinion that the white and purple 'Hirkani' will not look attractive.

Many errors in the first bus..

Passengers say that there are many errors in the 'Hirkani' bus running between Mumbai and Pune and it needs to be improved. The previous 'Hirkani' had a separate driver's cabin. However, it is missing in the new bus, and due to the large 'A-pillar' of this bus and no transparent glass there, the driver cannot see the road or the vehicles on the left.

The color scheme of 'Hirkani' will be changed. Like the earlier color scheme, plans are underway to give 'Hirkani' purple and white colors. A study is going on whether cabin partitions can be designed in the new 'Hirkani'. Minor and major errors in this bus are being rectified, said Shekhar Channe, Vice President and Managing Director, ST.
