The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to renovate 193 bus stations scattered across the state.

For this, the MSRTC and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) valued at INR 600 crore.

The official statement issued by MSRTC on Tuesday, December 19, confirmed the allocation of funds for these specific purposes. The signing of the MoU took place during the winter assembly session at Vidhan Bhavan in Nagpur.

During the MoU signing CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Industrial Minister Uday Samant along with other bureaucrats were present.

Under the initiative named ‘Hindu Hruday Samrat Swachh, Sundar bus sthanak,’ a sum of INR 100 crore has been allocated for beautification efforts, while the remaining INR 500 crore will be dedicated to road concretisation within State Transport (ST) bus stations.

This significant investment will primarily focus on the enhancement of 193 bus stations in Phase 1 of the project.

The proactive step through this MoU involves significant road improvement endeavors to mitigate these challenges. Notably, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged MIDC to support MSRTC during its 75th anniversary, resulting in this impactful collaboration.
