Fifteen new electric air-conditioned buses are set to replace the current Shivneri buses that travel between Mumbai and Pune. These state-of-the-art buses will be introduced by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to mark Maharashtra day on May 1st. These buses are the first 15 of a total of 150 that will be added to the MSRTC fleet in the coming months, with 100 of them to be supplied by EveyTrans. A report regarding the same was published in the Free Press Journal.

Comfortable and Eco-Friendly Travel

The new electric intercity coach buses are beautifully designed and can accommodate up to 43 passengers, offering a comfortable and spacious journey. The push-back seats are ideal for long-distance travel, and each seat has a charger and USB charger. The bus is also equipped with a modern infotainment system, TV and Wi-Fi, ensuring passengers stay entertained throughout the journey. The bus has a luggage capacity of five cubic meters, making it convenient for passengers traveling with bags.

The buses are powered by a Li-ion phosphate battery produced by Olectra Greentech Limited in India. The buses have an extended range of up to 350 km, which makes them perfect for long-distance travel. With zero emissions, these buses are not only eco-friendly but also quiet, making for a peaceful journey. Moreover, they are cost-effective as the fares will be lower than that of normal AC buses traveling the same route.

Safety Features

The EveyTrans electric bus has several safety features in place, meeting all necessary safety standards. The bus comes with the TUV-certified EU-standard FDSS system, the Indian-standard ADAS system (Advanced Driver Assistance System), and the ITS system. The bus also features emergency alarms and emergency lights, and the D-Froster improves the driver's visibility during foggy weather conditions.

Convenience for Passengers

The fifteen buses are set to park at the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation bus depot before they are handed over to the MSRTC. Once fully operational, the buses will make it more convenient for passengers traveling between Mumbai and Pune. The E-Bus service will save time, offering more efficient travel. The buses do not require any charging on the way and can cover a distance of 300 kilometers with a single full charge, making the journey even more convenient.

To summarise, the introduction of these state-of-the-art electric air-conditioned buses is a significant step towards more sustainable and eco-friendly public transportation.
