In recent developments, the Maharashtra government is to provide INR 231.30 crores to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

Moreover, a Government Resolution with regards to the same has been issued on October 12. As a result of this decision, the issue of pending salaries of 93,000 employees of the MSRTC has been resolved and soon they will be paid the due salary for the month of September.

In order to make it possible for all girls in rural areas to get education up to class 12, a scheme is implemented under the "Human Development Program" to provide free transport from village to school. It is funded by the state government. Due to this scheme, from the year 2013-14, payment was pending from the state government for the cost of bus transport of the corporation. Also, an increase in fuel price, driving distance difference, increase in salaries of drivers and carriers and increased cost of maintenance and repair of buses etc was pending.

In view of the same, Minister Anil Parab called a meeting of the officers of the concerned department from time to time and a total of at least INR 428 crores was sanctioned. Moreover, he consistently pursued funding. With the success of their efforts, in the month of May 2021, the first phase of the grant amount was paid to the corporation.
