The Mumbai (East) Regional Transport Office will soon launch a new series, MH03FB, for the registration of four-wheeled vehicles in the transport category. This new series will come into effect from December 22, 2025, as the currently used MH03ES series is nearing its end.
Vehicle owners who wish to reserve a fancy or preferred registration number from this new series must submit an application in the prescribed format. Along with the application, proof of address, identity proof, PAN card, and the prescribed fee for the preferred number must be submitted to the Regional Transport Office, Mumbai (East), or RTO, Mumbai (East), by 2 PM on December 24, 2025.
If more than one application is received for the same registration number, then, as per the Maharashtra Government's notification dated August 30, 2024, the applicant who deposits the highest amount of cash in addition to the regular fee will be allotted the registration number.
The complete process for allotting fancy and preferred registration numbers has been displayed on the office notice board. To prevent fraud by unauthorized persons, Regional Transport Officer Pallavi Kothawade has appealed to vehicle owners through a press release to apply in person at the RTO office.
