The third metro train for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro 3 route will soon enter Mumbai. Importantly, this train will be brought directly to Aarey Carshed. All the following trains are going to enter Aarey carshed.
Aarey – BKC phase of Metro 3 will be commissioned in December 2023. Accordingly, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has accelerated the work. The carshed must be completed to enter the metro service. So now MMRC has accelerated the work of the carshed. This carshed will have arrangements for keeping and maintaining 31 metro trains. MMRC Managing Director Ashwini Bhide recently inspected the Aarey Carshed.
MMRC has awarded a contract for the construction of 31 trains to a company in Andhra Pradesh. But only 9 trains are required for the first phase. Therefore nine trains are being constructed at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh in order of priority. Two of these trains have been completed and entered Mumbai. These trains are kept in a temporary carshed at Sariput Nagar and are being regularly tested here. So now the third train is going to enter Mumbai soon. This car will be brought directly to Aarey Carshed. Therefore, Bhide reviewed the work of the facility for keeping the trains in the carshed.
