CST- The Central Railway has some good news for Mumbaikars - the frequency of local trains will increase from the second week of April, in accordance with a revised railway timetable. 10 fast local trains will run till Diva, while 10 more trains will be run in the Trans Harbour rail route.

In order to lessen the load of commuters, the Central railway has come up with the idea of increasing the frequency of trains, so that passengers can travel safely. The CR has been witnessing an increasing number of rail fatalities due to overcrowding of local trains in the last one year.

Around 1658 trains currently run daily on the Central line, of which 836 are running on the CST main line, 590 trains running on Harbour line and 232 trains run on the Trans Harbour line.
