Fuel prices have been hiked for the second consecutive day by oil marketing companies. On Wednesday, February 10, the petrol price is retailing above INR 94 per litre in Mumbai, the highest among all metros.

According to the latest hike, petrol price in Mumbai now stands at INR 94.12 per litre while that of diesel is INR 84.63.

Meanwhile, the price of petrol was raised by 30 paise a litre in the national capital, while that of diesel was hiked by 25 paise per litre. Prior to this, the prices of both auto fuels were raised by 35 paise per litre each across Delhi on Tuesday, February 9.

On Tuesday, the prices were revised after a week-long pause by 30 paise after February 5.  The last time the retail price of auto fuels were closer to current levels was on October 4, 2018, when crude prices had shot up at $80 a barrel.

Auto fuel prices vary from state to state depending on the local sales tax or VAT. Petrol and diesel prices are revised on a daily basis in line with benchmark international price and foreign exchange rates.
