The condition of bus depots in the state has started to deteriorate. Therefore, the Maharashtra State Road and Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to renovate most of the bus depots. Accordingly, now a special colour code will be used in its structure to create a distinct identity of these bus depots.

So that it will be possible to identify the bus depots easily. Currently some colours are selected by the administration. Sarnaik has said that on an experimental basis these colours will be applied to some bus stands and the final selection of the best looking colour will be made.

Also, bus shelters are being constructed mainly in the taluka, district and municipal areas of the state. BOT (Built Use Transfer) principle will be used to build this bus depot due to shortage of funds.

A lease agreement of 60 years will be entered into with the concerned authority for construction. ST informed that earlier the condition of a 30 years tenancy agreement on BOT basis was relaxed, informed Madhav Kusekar, Managing Director of the Corporation.
