According to the latest reports, travelling to Shirdi to pay their devotion to Sai Baba will now become seamless for devotees as Air India will commence daily flight operations between Pune-Shirdi-Nagpur from Friday, February 18.

Till now, the flights were operating for Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai, this will now be a newly added route to the Shirdi airport, stated accounts.

Based on accounts, after being non-operational due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shirdi airport began functioning in October 2021. The airport has two flights from Bengaluru and one each from Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad.

It has been reported that officials elaborated on how the flight from Pune will halt at Shirdi and then go to Nagpur. Adding that the return flight from Nagpur will also be on the same day.

An official from Shirdi Airport was quoted by narratives elucidating on how to make night landing facilities available, IMD visual range installation is underway at the Shirdi Airport.

It has been claimed in accounts that Sai Baba devotees from the city have welcomed the decision as there are many who visit the temple every week. The said decision will ease their travel woes.

Recently when the temple opened its doors to the devotees, strict coronavirus restrictions were imposed by the authorities to ensure that crowding was curtailed.
