RPF saves mother from being crushed to death at Mumbra station

The frontline staffs like RPF, ticket checkers and police, have saved lives of 13 people at various Central Railway stations till November this year, said a data revealed by the Central Railway. Meanwhile, in 2019, CR managed to save 21 lives.

The alertness of Railway Protection Force (RPF) has saved many lives till date. A recent case that has come to light shows a Central Railway police personnel saving the life of a 29-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter from what could be a fatal accident.

On Monday, December 14, Rijban Safad Khan (29) fell down while trying to board the train at 10:35 am from Mumbra station with her daughter Umehabiba Khan.

The CCTV footage shows that Rijban was trying to board the local from platform no 2 at Mumbra station. When the train arrived, Rijban Khan made sure her daughter boards the train before her. As the train started at the same time, she lost her balance and slipped from the footboard. She was travelling to Mumbai for purchasing medicines.

Meanwhile, the girl, who saw her mother fall, shouted and tried to jump off the train. A cop on duty, Anuradha Pagote, immediately boarded the train to comfort the child and stop her from jumping.

At the same time, alert MSF Shahrukh Sheikh, Rahul Sonawane, Santosh Devkar pulled up the woman, who could have fallen between the train and the platform.

Since the train was still running, Pagote got down at the next station with the kid and brought her back to the Mumbra railway station, reuniting her with her mother.

As reported earlier, the frontline staffs like RPF, ticket checkers and police, have saved lives of 13 people at various Central Railway stations till November this year.

Meanwhile, in 2019, CR managed to save lives of as many as 21 people. Out of these, seven were in Dadar, two each in Byculla, Kurla, Kalyan and Karjat.
