Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Gandhinagar Capital station at 10.30 am on September 30, 2022. During the inaugural run this train ran as Train No. 09404. The train departed from Ahmedabad at 14.00 hrs to arrive Mumbai Central at 19.35 the same day. Enroute the train will halt at Vadodara and Surat, stations.
With this, the Western Railways (WR) is all set to commence the regular run of Vande Bharat Express Train between Gandhinagar Capital and Mumbai Central w.e.f October 1, 2022.
This train will run 6 days a week and will not run on Sundays. Train No. 20901 Mumbai Central- Gandhinagar Capital Vande Bharat Superfast Express will depart from Mumbai Central at 06.10 hrs and will reach Gandhinagar Capital at 12.30 hrs. Similarly in return direction Train No. 20902 Gandhinagar Capital -Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Superfast Express will leave Gandhinagar Capital at 14.05 hrs and will arrive Mumbai Central at 20.35 hrs.

Enroute the train will halt at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad stations on both directions.
This train comprises of AC Chair car and Executive Chair car.
According to an official statement released by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of WR, this train will offer world-class comfort and facilities to passengers. The fully air-conditioned Vande Bharat has several modern features such as sliding doors, personalized reading lights, mobile charging points, attendant call buttons, bio-toilets, automatic entry and exit doors, CCTV cameras, reclining facility, comfortable seats, etc.
The booking of inaugural run Train No. 09404 between Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central is open, whereas for Train Nos. 20901/20902 opened from today, September, 30, 2022 at PRS counters and IRCTC website.

REVISION IN TIMINGS & CHANGE IN DESTINATION OF Train No 12009/12010 MUMBAI CENTRAL GANDHINAGAR CAPITAL SHATABDI EXPRESS W.E.F October 1, 2022
Consequent to the introduction of Vande Bharat Express between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar Capital, Train No. 12009/12010 Shatabdi Express will now run between Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad w.e.f October 1, 2022. Train No 12009 Mumbai Central - Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express will depart from Mumbai Central at 06.20 hrs instead of existing time of 06.10 hrs. and reach Borivali at 6.43 hrs. instead of 6.33 hrs. Further the train will reach Ahmedabad at 12.45 hrs instead of existing time of 12.25 hrs. Similarly, in the return direction Train No 12010 Ahmedabad - Mumbai Central Shatabdi Express will depart from Ahmedabad at 15.10 hrs. w.e.f October 1, 2022 instead of existing time of 15.05 hrs. There will be no changes in the timings of enroute as well as destination station.
