A small part of a dilapidated structure which was a private wall in the civil area fell near the railway tracks near Masjid Railway station on Thursday, July 7, morning, stated the Central Railways (CR).

CR remarked that the obstruction was immediately removed and suburban services on the Harbour Line were restored in 15 minutes. It reportedly informed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of the incident, who advised that the balance portion of the structure also be removed to avert traffic disruption.

Thus, the Railways will now be providing all necessary assistance to the BMC in the removal of the unsafe structure.

In light of these developments, a 2 hours emergency block will shortly be operated to remove and secure the portion. It is anticipated that the block will be held during non-peak hours.

Later, the CR shared that the Emergency Block on the Harbour Line will be operational from 2.00 pm tp 4.00 pm on Thursday.

During the block period, suburban services will not be available between CSMT and Wadala Road on the Harbour Line. Owing to this, passengers will be allowed to travel on the mainline via Dadar and Kurla.

Further it has been brought to light that the targeted work was completed and train services were re-started on the CSMT-Wadala Harbour line by 4.40 pm on Thursday.
