The most-awaited air-conditioned local will be within the reach of common man, thanks to the Western Railway (WR). The officials have decided to propose a fare structure in such a way that a layman will be able to travel.
If a proposed fare works out, then commuters will have to give only INR 10 for the first five kilometers and the maximum fare for the 60-km stretch between Churchgate and Virar is INR 85, reported Hindustan Times.
The proposal has been sent to the WR for a nod and then will be forwarded to the railway board for the final approval. There will be no monthly passes for the AC train and first-class pass holders will be eligible to use AC train services.
