India's Biggest Walkathon for a Cause 'Oxfam Trailwalker' organises its practice session at Mahalaxmi on Saturday, November 9

Oxfam India is organising India's biggest walkathon a sporting event which has participants walking to cover a distance of 100 kms in 48 hours and 50 kms in 24 hours. This event is a 'cause' based event which happens annually in India. This year is the 15th edition. This event is organised in Mumbai and Bangalore.


Last year over 1500 people had participated and 5 crores was generated which was utilized for different project that Oxfam India is working for in the country, especially in the poorest of the poor states. The central theme of the walk is 'Equality 4 all'.

Oxfam Trailwalker attracts runners, marathoners and fitness enthusiasts as well as homemakers, CEOs, students, doctors, and even cancer survivors. It allows a chance for a variety of participants from different backgrounds.    


This Saturday 9th Nov, Oxfam India is also organising a special training session in Mumbai for the walkers to train them on how to manage the long walk and focus area would be about endurance, strength and how to manage to walk under the sun for long hours.
