Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Rohit Pawar recently praised Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Amit Thackeray after the latter extended his support to the shifting of metro 3 car shed to Kanjurmarg.

Pawar said that he was happy to see leaders like Amit Thackeray in the opposition supporting the good work done by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. Siding with the government, Amit Thackeray said that it would be more affordable to damage the car shed in Aarey over damaging the environment.

“My salute to all the environmentalists who didn’t give up on the issue of environmental conservation and have consistently questioned authorities. They agitated and were even imprisoned while protesting against the felling of trees in Aarey,” Thackeray said while expressing gratitude towards Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the state government.

Development must be there but not at the expanse of nature, Thackeray said while demanding that there should be tree plantation and forest conservation at large scale.

Reacting to this, Pawar said that there are many leaders in the opposition who criticise the government for the sake of it but there are leaders like Amit Thackeray who support the good work of government.

Meanwhile, BJP leaders are claiming that the decision taken by the Chief Minister is out of ego and is going to cause huge financial loss to the government.
