Maharashtra Transport Minister and Shiv Sena leader Anil Parab have tested positive for the coronavirus. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra after his condition deteriorated. However, his condition is stable now and he is undergoing treatment. 

Parab appealed those who came in close contact with him to get themselves tested and follow the required protocol. As this happened, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called off the meeting of Shiv Sena MLAs which was to be held at Matoshree. 

However, Shiv Sena MLAs including Anil Parab met at the official residence of the Chief Minister a few days ago to discuss the COVID-19 situation in Maharashtra. Thackeray and his son along with others were present at the meeting. 

Till now, 16 cabinet ministers in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government including Parab have tested positive for the coronavirus. However, many have recovered from it. 

Recently, Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant, state Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, Minister of State (MoS) for Water Resources and Education Bacchu Kadu were tested positive for the coronavirus. 

Earlier, Jitendra Awhad, Ashok Chavan, Dhananjay Munde, Aslam Shaikh, Balasaheb Patil, Sanjay Bansode, Sunil Kedar, Abdul Sattar and Vishwajit Kadam, Nitin Raut and Hasan Mushrif from the Uddhav Thackeray government tested positive for the coronavirus.
