Charkop - Police constable was assaulted during Ganesh Immersion at Kandivali's Charkop area. When ASI Nandkrushna Naik was performing his duty on Kaka Keni chowk, he saw Deepak Rathod in inebriated state sleeping in the middle of the road. When ASI tried to wake him up, he suddenly stood up and started beating up the police with the stick police was carrying. ASI Nandkrushna was admitted to Mangalmurti hospital and the man was arrested on the spot. He has been booked under various IPC sections 353.
