Ganesh celebration is considered to be incomplete without musical instruments. However, this Ganesh festival, devotees will have to shell out more money for the same. As prices of raw material- which is needed to make dholki- have gone up, it has increased the prices of these instruments. Lalbaug- Parel is the area where these instruments are widely used & are available. According to artisans, repairing the dholki costs Rs 500- 1500 while buying new dholki costs more than Rs 1500.
