The national award winning actor Ayushmann Khurrana is back with another movie titled Dream Girl. The movie is laughter riot and some of the one liners are bang on point. The movie is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, who was earlier the writer and content director for the Sony Entertainment Television series Comedy Circus. He seemed to have managed to bring the best to the table. Both Ayushmann Khurrana and Anu Kapoor are power house of talent and we see that in this movie. Their acting and humour timing is right on point.
The movie Dream Girl revolves around Karamvir Singh played by Ayushmann Khurrana, who is desperate to land a job. Equipped with the innate talent of impersonating a woman’s voice, he usually ended up landing the role of Radha or Sita in local plays. One day, thanks to this gift he manages to grab a job at a friendship call centre and as Pooja finds a queue of men vying for his attention and love. During this time, police officer Rajpal played by Vijay Raaz and a father played by Anu Kapoor among others are head over heels in love with Pooja. For what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. In this movie, Manjot Singh plays the role of Ayushmann's friend while Nushrat Bahrucha plays his love interest. Right in the trailer, a large chunk of the plot was revealed by the makers. The movie lives up to the hype created by the trailer and its witty one liners and punch lines keep you entertained all through. Dream Girl also has a great screenplay.
The movie may have a larger appeal in single screen cinemas but given that Ayushmann Khurrana has delivered back to back hits, there might be a large chunk of audience wanting to watch what he has come out with next. Nushrat Bahrucha does not have much to do in this movie. Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana acting of Anu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz and Manjot Singh will impress one and all.
The background score for the movie Dream Girl is okay. The songs are situational and gel well with the movie. However, there is not much of a story arch and one should go for this movie just for masala quotient and one liners.
