2020 has been a bad year for Bollywood. On one hand, the world is trying to come to terms with the coronavirus spread and how to deal with the repercussions of the same. On the other, so many stalwarts of the industry have left us this year. It seems that there has been a blow after another for every Bollywood lover. 

Here's a look at other actors that left us teary-eyed in 2020

Sushant Singh Rajput


The first name that comes to mind is that of Sushant Singh Rajput. His death has left everyone shocked. People are still trying to come to terms with the fact that Sushant is no more with us. It will be difficult to fill the void that he has left.

Rishi Kapoor

The evergreen actor who had been entertaining us for decades left us in the year 2020. Right from his first film Bobby, Rishi Kapoor has been entertaining the audiences. He also made quite an impact in Anubhav Sinha's Mulk that released in the year 2018. The makers of his last film Sharmaji Namkeen are planning to complete the movie in his honour and release it soon. 

Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan was another gem of an actor that left us too soon. The actor had been fighting a battle with cancer for over a year. However, this year he succumbed to the disease. He was unable to promote his last movie Angrezi Medium due to ill health. 

Wajid Khan


Bollywood music composer Wajid Khan, of the Sajid-Wajid duo, passed away in Mumbai at the age of 43. Wajid was suffering from a kidney ailment and some reports claim that he had tested positive for Coronavirus. He has been associated with the hit Dabangg series.

Basu Chatterjee


He was best known for directing slice of life movies such as Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha, Baaton Baaton Mein, Ek Ruka Hua Faisla and Chameli Ki Shaadi to name a few. Filmmaker-screenwriter Basu Chatterjee was 93 at the time of his death. As per reports, he died of age-related complications.

Nimmi


The popular face of the 60s also said goodbye to us in the year 2020. She was 88 and had not been was not keeping well and breathed her at a private hospital in Santacruz. Her real name was Nawab Banoo and was popularly known as Nimmi. She gave many hits in the 1950s and early 1960s and was popular for her many characters, most of them were of a village girl or a woman. Her films like Aam, Pooja Ke Pjool, Mere Mehboob, Akashdeep etc. were popular.

S P Balasubrahmanyam


Renowned Indian Singer, S P Balasubrahmanyam, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020, due to coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. Popularly known as SPB, he got himself admitted at Chennai’s MGM Healthcare Hospital, after testing positive for coronavirus last month. However, his health deteriorated and after a long battle, the singer left us for heavenly abode. 

Saroj Khan


Legendary choreographer Saroj Khan passed away after a cardiac arrest on July 3. She was 71. Khan had complained of breathing issue, following which she was admitted to Mumbai's Guru Nanak Hospital. One of the most prolific choreographers of the Hindi film industry, Khan, fondly called Masterji in Bollywood.

Jagdeep

Jagdeep in between Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan

Actor-comedian Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, popularly known by his screen name Jagdeep, breathed his last on July 8 in Mumbai. He was 81. Jagdeep started his film journey as a child artist in director BR Chopra's 1951 film Afsana.
