On Tuesday,September 14, a Mumbai court warned Kangana to remain present during the next court hearing in the Javed Akhtar defamation case.

The court said that if Kangana fails to mark her presence, they will issue an arrest warrant against her.

Rizwan Siddique, Kangana's lawyer, has reportedly submitted a medical report, and she couldn't attend Tuesday's hearing because of her health.

According to the Indian Express, Siddique has asked the court for a short date and told that Kangana will be present for the next hearing if her COVID-19 test results are negative.

If Ranaut tests COVID-19 positive, her lawyer will inform the court with another plea.

He also told the court that, in the past 15 days, Kangana was travelling a lot to promote her movie - Thalaivii, and has met a number of people. However, her lawyer said that Kangana can be present for a virtual hearing.

Javed Akhtar's lawyer, Jay Bhanushali, argued in the court saying, that the lyricist is coming regularly and sincerely to the court for the hearing.

He also pointed out that Ranaut had missed 8 hearings previously since the process had started in the month of February.

The court has currently kept Bhanushali's application that seeks a warrant to be issued again Kangana, pending. However, the court said if she fails to appear in the next hearing ''I will issue an arrest warrant.”

The next hearing is going to take place on September 20.
