There has always been a question about how he always manages to bring stories that are so unusual and beautiful. that secret to how he weaves in that magic in his stories is something his daughter Ida Ali quipped sharing advice at times to his father for scripts.

Being a director’s daughter, she was asked the obvious as to What’s your favourite film of all time? And why? and while everyone expected her to mention one of her dad's films, she replied, "It has to be Tim Burton's 'BIG Fish'. That movie creates such a surreal world and a world that I would like to be in. So, any movie that would do that is just amazing."

She was further asked if she has ever given any advice to her dad on his movies. She candidly mentioned, "I am not sure whether I am allowed to say that but, we do have long discussions about the scripts and sometimes I do give him some useful piece of advice."

Ida Ali who is following her dad’s footsteps has clearly taken and given some insights and precisely why she mentioned that ‘A piece of advice goes a long way’.
