Bollywood's popular Music Director Ismail Darbar who has worked on the music score for blockbusters like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, etc spoke on a myriad of things including music composition, life, family, and new-age singers in an interview.
When asked about his current favorite singer by the RJ, Ismail said, “Mera favorite hai Arijit Singh, but uska dimaag kharab ho chuka hai! Jyaada banawati dikhne laga hai woh. (Arijit Singh is my favourite, however, the success has gotten into his head and he is acting fake nowadays.) ”
Adding further he said “Usko aisa lagta hai ki mujhe ab kisiki jarurat nahi hai. Par aisa nahi hai. Bade bade log khatm ho gaye hain yahan par. Meri baat sunega toh life mai achha hi hoga. (He thinks, he doesn't need anyone to go ahead in the music industry. This is a very uncertain place, even biggies have been taken down within a span of time. It will be good for him, if he starts taking my advice seriously.)"
On being asked about his opinion on current singers including rapper Badshah about whom Darbar said, "Bacchon ke liye gimmick hai yeh sab. (It is all a gimmick for these children.) I don't call it music. It's playing with words and I am sure even Badshah is aware of the same."
The chat concluded with the multiple award-winning music directors urging all the playback singing aspirants to work harder to achieve their goals in life.
Earlier, Ismail Darbar had called Arijit Singh a narcissist person at an inaugural event last month.
