On October 12, 2018, the film 'Tumbbad', which broke the parameters of Indian cinema, was released, and on the basis of word of mouth publicity alone, the film created history at the box office. The film completed five years on October 12, 2023. Initially, no one took the film seriously, but as people started reacting to the film, it became a big hit.

Director Rahi Anil Barve said the movie was ready in 2015 however it took the next 3 years to add special effects and other necessary changes. He wrote a social media post in this regard. Rahi Barve is often asked that he takes a lot of time, spends many years presenting a piece of art. Rahi has answered this question in his Facebook post. In his post, Rahi writes, "It's been 5 years since Tumbbad, work has been going on 'Gulkand' for the last four and a half years and work on 'Pahad Pangira' is going on for one and a half years. 17 years ago when I did my first short film 'Manja' it also took 3 years. Why does it take so long? This question is constantly asked.”

Responding further, Rahi writes, "To be honest, I had time then, maybe more than I do now, but no one cared at all, at least now. It's also good that some people feel something about what I'm doing. I am thankful. Still some people ask why it takes five to ten years? I have no answer for this. If we do not like what we are doing at first glance, others will certainly not like it either.”
