The filmmaker's production house took to social media to announce the same with a message which mentioned that the film would release on February 21, 2020.

Popular Bollywood filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently celebated 30 successful years of his renowned film Parinda, and marking the occasion, he announced his new directorial project, "Shikara".

The film would be a  love letter from Kashmir and is expected to release on February 21, 2020. Chopra took to social media to announce the same, ans said that the film would be presented by Fox Star Hindi. Produced by Chopra himself, the shoot of Shikara began in March 2018 in Kashmir. He had earlier made another film on Kashmir, Mission Kashmir, back in 2000.

Chopra will be directing Shikara after a long break of 12 years. His last film as a director was Eklavya: The Royal Guard which released in 2007. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga was the last film Chopra produced, but unfortunately it did not do well at the box office. However, the previous film to that, Sanju, made a mark, and collected a huge sum.

Chopra is known for making blockbuster films like Munnabhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munnabhai, 3 Idiots, Parineeti and many others.
