Over the weekend, PM Narendra Modi announced the creation of the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES) and urged everyone to make donations and support this noble cause. Many actors came forward to lend their support to the cause. Kartik Aaryan too joined in the same and pledged Rs 1 Crore towards the cause.
He states that he has reached this position because of the masses love and support and it is his time to support the citizens back who has hailed him as a superstar. He wrote, “It is the absolute need of the hour to rise together as a nation. Whatever I am, whatever money I’ve earned, is only because of the people of India; and for us I am contributing Rs. 1 crore to the PM-CARES Fund. I URGE all my fellow Indians also to help as much as possible 🙏🏽"
As soon as the Prime Minister announced this fund, Akshay Kumar replied to him stating that he will be donating Rs 25 crore to the cause. T-Series fame, Bhushan Kuma and Randeep Hooda too have pledged to give Rs 1 crore each to this charity. Varun Dhawan will be donating Rs 30 lakhs to PM-CARES. Manish Paul has announced that he will donate Rs 20 lakh to the cause.
Anushka Sharma (along with husband Virat Kohli) Rajkumar Rao, Ayushmann Khurana, Hrithik Roshan and Tapsee Punnu too have pledged their support without disclosing the amount that they will be giving.
