Banks might remain closed for up to 11 days in October

The consecutive bank holidays are a result of festivals, including Diwali and Dussehra, falling on weekdays. The consecutive bank holidays are expected to continue in November as well

In what can be called good news for bank employees, the banks will remain closed in October 2019 on as many as 11 days in the month. Therefore, the account-holders have been asked to keep the list of bank holidays in October 2019 in mind and have also been asked to keep ample amount of cash in hand to avoid any delay throughout the month.

With Dussehra and Diwali falling in October 2019, there will be 7 days in total, when the banks will remain closed. There is a bank holiday on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Similarly, the banks will not function on Mahanavmi which is falling on October 7 (Monday) followed by Dussehra on October 8 (Tuesday).

Since October 6 is a Sunday, banks will remain closed for three consecutive days from October 6 to October 8. Alongside, bank ATM refilling would also remain suspended as all banking officials will be enjoying their festival holidays.

As the banks remain closed on second and fourth Saturday, the banking services won't be available for customers on October 12th and October 26th. So, banks will remain closed on October 12th, 13th, 26th and 27th.

Later, on October 28, banks will be closed on account of Govardhan Festival and on October 29, banks will remain closed for Bhai Dooj festival.

There is also a three consecutive bank holiday in November 2019 too. Banks will remain closed on second Saturday i.e. on November 9 and Guru Nanak Jayanti is falling on November 11 which is also a bank holiday. So, banking services will remain closed from November 9 to November 11.
