Students of Class 10 studying at a BMC school in Mumbai's Aarey Colony were facing problems with regards to online education. The new norms drawn by the Maharashtra government is not helping students undergo classes, due to the limited availability of technology. A report regarding the same was published in Mumbai Mirror on August 24, 2020, which stated that the students living in remote areas of Aarey did not have technical support due to which their daily education suffered.

After reading the report, the country's popular Hypermarket chain, DMart, stepped forward with an aim to help these students. Addressing their issues, the firm recently donated a total of 65 tablets to these students which would now help them access their classes online. Sharing more information on this decision, DMart's programme office, Onkar Kulkarni told Mirror, that so far 52 students received the tablets, and the remaining will be distributed soon. Officials took a decision to offer support after reading the report and visiting the location. The team understood that the students were struggling for simple needs.

To ensure ease of using them, officials have installed students' course textbooks and required material for class 10, and this was achieved with the help of education brand, Navneet. The team has disabled the data SIM and due to this, students will not be able to use these devices for online classes, however, it will help them study whenever needed. Furthermore, DMart will also ensure the devices are checked regularly and updated with the help of a technical team who will visit the locations, twice a week.

The principal, teachers and students have expressed their happiness regarding the support and extended their gratitude to DMart, as this move has helped students understand the course material in an easy manner, which was not being achieved earlier.
