Farmers Weekly Market to shutdown

SHARES

Dharavi’s farmer’s weekly market is on the brink of shutting down as vegetables are not being sold. Farmer’s weekly market was initiated by the state but it seems that the latter has forgotten about it.

This is because of the lack of space and lack of awareness. This decision will be affecting farmers who were selling their produce directly to customers at good prices. “I have been selling veggies since three weeks and facing losses. As we are not able to sell vegetables which we brought, so we are selling these veggies to hotels. The state should do something about it,” said Arjun Mohan, farmer.
