Irate residents protest against long queues

SHARES

Byculla- It is almost 14 days since prime minister Narendra Modi announced his decision to take the Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes out of circulation. The queues outside banks and ATMs however are not abating. Residents who were standing in line outside the State Bank of India’s ATM at Byculla finally lost their patience and raised slogans against the PM. “What is the state government expecting from me? Should I bring my food and bed sheet here and stay on the streets? I am here since last two days to withdraw my money and I am yet to get any. This is nothing but harassment,” said one of the irate residents.
