Malad – An officer of the HDFC Bank’s Link Road branch in Malad West has to lose his finger due to a fight among people willing to get their old notes transferred. The security at the branch has been increased. According to information, people had thronged the bank to exchange their old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations. As the security guard was leaving two to three persons at a time, a woman in the queue started fighting with the guard. The said bank officer tried to intervene into the arguments but the woman forcefully pushed the door. The finger of the officer got stuck into the door. Such a heavy blow resulted into losing of the finger of that officer. The woman was arrested and released on bail. Meanwhile, HDFC bank officials refused to speak more on this issue.
