More than 15000 jobs offered in July 2021 through government initiatives

Information regarding the same was provided by Minister Nawab Malik. Currently, employment opportunities are being provided in the state through various activities like Mahasvayam Web Portal, Online Employment Fair etc.

Several people across the country lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The unemployment rate rose during the last few months and as per reports, over 15,000 people have been provided employment in the state in July 2021 through various initiatives implemented by the Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. Information regarding this was given by Minister Nawab Malik

Employment is provided in the state through various activities like Mahasvayam Web Portal, Online Employment Fair etc. Through such various initiatives in 2020, the government has offered jobs to over 1.99 lakh  candidates  in the state. In the current year, i.e., from January to July 2021, over 93000 unemployed citizens were given employment, said Minister Malik.

He also that the Department of Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship has launched a web portal to bridge the gap between unemployed candidates and entrepreneurs. One can register on this web portal by providing information about their education, skills, experience etc. Moreover, companies, entrepreneurs, and corporates who are looking for skilled candidates can also find the skilled candidates  by registering on this web portal. 

Besides this, the department also organizes online employment fairs across several the districts in a timely manner. So far, more than 90,000 public and private entrepreneurs have registered with the department on this portal. Many of these entrepreneurs fill up their vacancies regularly through the service offered and also by conducting online meetings with the Skill Development Department.

This service has provided a good platform for job-seeking candidates to get jobs through the initiatives, added Minister Malik. Approximately 5,412 unemployed people were given jobs  in Mumbai in July 2021, and more than 48,000 job-seeking candidates have registered on the portal offered by the department. 

Data reveals that around 11,619 unemployed candidates registered in Mumbai division, 7554 in Nashik division, 15,647 in Pune division, 7,247 in Aurangabad division, 3,046 in Amravati division and 3882 in Nagpur division. In just one month, i.e., July 2021, more than 15,000 candidates got jobs through various initiatives of the Skill Development Department. Of these, 5412 were in Mumbai division, 2437 in Nashik division, 6953 in Pune division, 274 in Aurangabad division, 115 in Amravati division and 129 in Nagpur division.
