Kandivali, Mira Road, and GTB Nagar station all set to be revamped

In order to make rail journeys comfortable, Railways has decided to make basic amenities available at several stations. Accordingly, Western Railways is all set to revamp Kandivali, Mira Road station whereas Harbour Railways is set to revamp Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Nagar railway station. 

The redeveloped stations will have food stalls, open-air restaurants along with various other facilities that Railways is planning to introduce.

Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has planned to revamp 16 railway stations and under which, Kandivali, Mira Road, and GTB Nagar station are all set to get a complete overhaul. The rail corporation is planning to complete the project within the next five years.

Meanwhile, Mira Road will receive a two-storeyed platform, open-air garden restaurant, and a deck on the first floor according to the plan by MRVC. Whereas Kandivali station will be a three-floor railway station and have auto rickshaw and taxi stand with pickup and drop off points.

Along with this, the station will also have a food court, a book shop, and a medical store. There is also a plan to build a 10-metre wide overhead bridge for passengers. 

Meanwhile, an open-air restaurant along with a one-storey building is proposed to be built at GTB Nagar station.
