
Two teenagers lost their lives in separate drowning incidents in Mumbai's Kandivali West, keeping emergency responders busy as rescue teams, police, and medical personnel rushed to the scenes.
Case 1:
The first incident was reported on Sunday afternoon when a 17-year-old boy allegedly drowned in Dingeshwar Talav at Charkop Gaon, near Rustomji Building.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) Control Room, the alert was received at around 2.18 pm. Firefighters immediately launched a search operation, while the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was called in to assist with the rescue efforts. Officials said the operation was still underway, and further details are awaited.
Case 2:
In a separate incident, a 16-year-old boy died after drowning in a well behind Sagwadi Chawl on MG Cross Road No. 4 in Kandivali West.
Officials said the incident occurred at around 1.47 pm on July 5 but was reported to the authorities only on July 7 at about 2.40 pm.
Fire brigade personnel retrieved the teenager from the well using ropes and a first-floor ladder before he was rushed to Nidhi Hospital. Doctors, however, declared him brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Prit Sandeep Ganve, 16.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, and 108 ambulance services responded to both incidents, carrying out rescue and emergency operations. Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the drownings.
