As the pipeline, which supplies water to Thane, burst at 5 am on Monday, April 17, the city will face a 24-hour water cut. This water supply will remain shut till Tuesday, April 18, 9 am.

The incident took place near the Mankoli petrol pump along the Mumbai-Nashik highway. Owing to this, the water supply has been stopped for repair works.

The repair work of this water channel is going on on a war footing by the Water Department of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).

TMC Additional Commissioner Sandeep Malvi informed, "The pipeline supplying water to Thane city burst at Mankoli Canal early on Monday morning. The TMC water department staff is repairing the pipeline on priority. The water supply of Thane city will be affected. Water supply will be at low pressure from 9 am on Tuesday and till Wednesday. Thanekar has been appealed to cooperate us."
